Anomaly Guard
Anomaly Guard
A short horror game that I made for the 2025 GMTK Game Jam. This game will take you trough the first shift of a nightguard that works at the Hudson Valley Research Institute. You will be met with a short introduction of the game. If you're a first time player, it is adviced that you read the introduction carefully. Play in fullscreen for the best experience.
What is the game about?
You'll be working as the nightguard at the Hudson Valley Research Institute from 12 PM till 6 AM. Your task is to loop trough the few camera's that the building has, while keeping an eye on every detail of the different rooms. If you see any changes, don't wait! Report it immediatly. If to many of these anomalies are present, you'll no longer be safe and are likely to die. Not sure if there are any changes? Don't report when nothing has changed. The reseachers are not quite sure what would happen when this happens, but it would most likely not be a pleasent experience. A few parts of this game have been inspired by the Five Nights At Freddy's franchise. That is why I made an easter egg for you to find that includes a character from Five Nights At Freddy's.
Controls:
The controls for this game are as simple as it gets. Evertthing can be done with the left mouse button. The only other control is the S-key to skip the intro.
Connection with this years theme:
The theme for the 2025 GMTK Game Jam is "Loop". I incorporated this by having the player 'loop' through the security cameras. In other words, you will be seeing the same rooms over and over again.
About & credits:
I spend about 24 hours on my game. I had to work during 3 of the 4 days of the game jam, so I didn't have a lot of time.
I made the game in scratch. All the sprites and background pictures are made by me. Thanks to @Crypt1x for playtesting my game. Music and sound are from Pixabay.com
